The Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike has sent an invitation to Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi to commission one of the projects executed by his administration in the state. The development was contained in an announcement made by Dr Yunusa Tanko, spokesperson for the Obi/Datti presidential campaign. The event is to take place on 17th November, 2022 and the project to be commissioned is identified as Nkpolu- Oroworukwu Flyover Bridge project in Rivers State.

The Ebonyi State Governor, Dave Umahi has observed that the Igbos are the very ones responsible for the challenges facing them as a people. Umahi who made the submission during the World Igbo Day celebration at the Christian Ecumenical Centre, Abakaliki, said it is time to look inwards and avoid further crises than what the region has already suffered. He observed that the forefathers paid a great price for the freedom and peace in the region but some people who are not students of history seem to be rubbishing the labours of the founding fathers because of their selfish interests.

The Labour Party (LP) has cleared its national chairman, Julius Abure of the allegations of misappropriating N3.5 billion party fund. The national publicity secretary of the party, Obiora Ifoh, in a statement on Monday said Abure has not embezzled any money as claimed by the LP national treasurer, Oluchi Oparah. Naija News recalls that earlier on Monday, Oparah called on the Labour Party National Chairman, Julius Abure, to provide a detailed account of the party’s funds, which amount to over N3.
